Photographer's Note
Toulouse, at the entrance to the street leading to the Capitol Pargaminières: a giant portrait (6 meters by 11) Claude Nougaro, microphone in hand, still reflects the strong link between the Toulouse singer with his "city Gascon".
"Claude Nougaro, born September 9, 1929 in Toulouse and died March 4, 2004 in Paris, is a French poet and singer-songwriter. A great lover of jazz, Latin and African music, playing words with the French language, he applied throughout his career, in an unusual marriage of genres to unite French songs and rhythms. "...
"Toulouse originally published under the title O Toulouse is a famous song by Claude Nougaro, published in April 1967 on a 45s edited by the Philips label. The singer makes an important and personal tribute to his hometown of Toulouse." Wikipedia
Lyrics of the song "TOULOUSE"
It is far my country, it is far
Sometimes in my heart to revive
Green water the Canal du Midi
And red brick of Minimes
Oh my own country, O Toulouse ...
I take the avenue to school
My briefcase is full of punches
Here, if you win you bobbies
Here, even the grannies love castagne
Oh my own country, O Toulouse ...
A torrent of pebbles rolling in your accent
Ta violence boils down to your violets
We trafficking con only that treats
There is a storm in the air yet
The Saint Sernin illuminates the night
In coral flower as the sun sprinkles
That may be why despite your red and black
That may be why you're told Pink City
I see your stone oh my city Gascon
Your gutted sidewalk on gas pipes
Is Spain in which you push a little gore
Or is it in your guts a jazz bubble?
Here is the Capitol, I stopped my steps
The tenors colds trembled under their suckers
I can still hear the echo of the voice of Dad
It was at that time my only blues singer
Today your climb up buildings
At your aircraft Blagnac big snore
If one takes me about this city
Will I still be seeing my pinch of tiles
Oh my own country, O Toulouse, Toulouse O ...

Hello Magaly,
Excellent choice of black and white to create a mood of nostalgia very appropriate to the subject. An image well composed and ideally suited to the vertical format. Fine conversion to monochrome; the image has a good range of tones and excellent clarity.

Bonjour Magaly

Hello Magaly.
An interesting note about the singer, who introduces us to the understanding, the sensational image, so in B & W is totally timeless and could very well play an environment of the singer's life, coffee gives you a nice bohemian touch.
Sharpness and brightness are captured excellently.
Very good composition.
Have a good week.
Best wishes.
Luis.

Hi Magaly
never seen this street scene before.
for obvious reasons the large portrait takes centre stage and is the main focal point.
and i like your choice to present it in black and white, I probably wouldn't have even thought about that option, and it turned out very well.
charming street scene

Hi Magaly!
Looks like a really nice homage! I like the b&w and the composition with the terraces and the people, looks as if he's singing for them.
