Photographer's Note
The colourful town of Roussillon sits on a hill composed of ochre rock which has provided the colours for the town抯 buildings for centuries. Even the Romans made use of the ochre to colour pots. The exposed ochre areas are a short walk from town. The striking formations are the result of erosion.
