Picture from Chamonix, one of the beautiful wooden houses with painted decorative elements depicted upon.

This spot from Ave. Ravanel-le-Rouge at 45.9204, 6.8666 on the map, with the Mont-Blanc Glacier-de-Bossons on the far background (a bit over-exposed upon the snow on the slopes).

Picture drew from my archive, taken with my spare camera on our trip on 06/2012.

Hi Ike,very nice memory from Chamonix,very far to the italian border. A scene of good times with a lot of tourists. Now all is closed because Covid and France is in lockdown from yesterday. An excellent capture of main street well done as usual. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ike,
Very nice wooden buildings ina traditional style but obviously adapted to appeal to tourists. The steep mountains just behind them provides a spectacular backdrop. It's a nice snapshot in a place offering limited options for photo angles.

Hello Ike,
When I took this picture, a bell immediately rang with me. If my memory doesn't cheat on me I ate in 2008 at this restaurant.
In any case, I must have walked by and stored it in my unconscious memory.
Your beautiful picture brought back this memory, for which thank you.

Ike, the glacier forms an impressive background. Nice view of the street with one person well included. The wooden facades of the chalets converted into restaurants have charm. It is a typical Savoyard decoration. The moraine refers to the screes carried by the glacier. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

These French, Alpine chalets are a delight!
(We stayed in one on our trip to Italy.)
You have captured the details well, showing the wooden construction, the overhanging, sheltering roof and the pretty, painted decorations. Who wouldn't want to go in here!
Don't villages look fresh and cared-for, when they have flower containers everywhere!

Hi Ike,

A wonderful alpine village at the foot of the Rhone Alps. Good sharpness and the restaurant has attractive murals on the facade a bit like Oberammergau in Bavaria. The tourists animate the scene and provide scale. Tfs!

Hi Ike,
very decorative facade well worth of sharing. The light was quite challenging, I see, with beautiful mountains in the distance but slightly too bright and a lot of shadow in the foreground.

Hello Ike,
It's lovely place to be ....to wonder the amazing Mont-Blanc and the beautiful snowy mountain ( even a bit over-exposed ) but when I checked at your France gallery, that's a stunning view I see. And the glacier too.
These wooden houses are delicious to look at as well as the French cuisines in these restaurants. I do believe that you must had a good time there.
