Place des Jacobins, a photo from Rhone Alpes, South

Photographer's Note

Place des Jacobins in the main Presquw'Ile part of Lyon dates from 1556 although I don't think anything remains from that era.
The buildings in this photo date from the mid 19th century whilst the fountain was finished in 1885 to replace one lost during the building of the metro.
The couple checking out a photo would date from the late 20th century.

The square looks very attractive, the large fountain is great and the stately fa鏰des make a great background. Everything is lit by a wonderful and clear sunlight. Great work.

Hello Ian,

Lyon looks like a must see city, but is overlooked in favour of Paris more often than not. Exquisite stone carved statues and fountains reminiscent of Italy. Tfs!
