Hi TE friends

This is a small lake in the city. I take a walk in the city and reach this lake, It was semi frozen. The morning was very cold and the sun only appear at lunch time.

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc or, more commonly, Chamonix is a town and commune in eastern France, in the Haute-Savoie d閜artement, at the foot of Mont Blanc. At the census of 1999 it had a population of 9,830 inhabitants and a land area of 116.53 km� (44.99 sq mi). The town lies at an altitude of 1,035 metres. The 1924 Winter Olympics were held at Chamonix
In the summer months Chamonix is a mecca for alpine mountaineers, drawn to the area by challenges like the north face of the Dru, the Frendo Spur on the Aiguille du Midi, traversing the Alps on the legendary GR 5 footpath or more accessible challenges like summitting Mont Blanc (by a number of possible routes).
Apart from high-mountain summer sports, Chamonix is also a destination for the hardcore mountain biker. As well as the obvious lift-assisted areas for Freeriders there are hundreds of kilometres of challenging hidden singletrack trails - often only found with the help of guides.

Chamonix is also a haven for advanced skiing and snowboarding. The Vall閑 Blanche glacier runs down from below Mont Blanc du Tacul and the Aiguille du Midi to the valley. This spectacular route can be skied or snowboarded, though care should be exercised due to crevasses. Aside from that, the valley has about six separate ski areas, including Le Br関ent (a short but steep walk from the town centre), La Fl間鑢e (at Les Praz), Les Planards (ski area for beginners and early intermediates), Les Grands Montets (at Argenti鑢e) and Domaine de Balme (at Le Tours). Many of these provide challenging terrain, especially off-piste, with runs down to Switzerland.
Chamonix contains one of the most famous off piste ski runs the pas du chevre. This is one of the most extreme off piste expeditions in the world which offers glacier skiing at the base of the drus. There is also a ski resort at Les Houches. From Wikipedia

Sim, gosto mas prefiro o quentinho do s韙io aonde vivo. A 鷑ica coisa � que temos tido tempestades enormes umas atr醩 das outras. H� 4 dias que ando a tentar tirar fotos aos rel鈓pagos mas sem sucesso, at� ao momento. � uma quest鉶 de paci阯cia e tempo. E neste momento n鉶 tenho falta de ambas!!!
Mas voltando � tua foto, est� lind韘sima, com um reflexo espectacular e cores naturais muito boas.
Estvas de f閞ias ou foi um daqueles trabalhos que s� alguns conseguem?!!!

This is a fine early winter scene, with some typical features..!

This is a great shot with a fine reflection. The reflection provides depth and balance for the scene. The slope of the mountain creates a nice diagonal that helps lead the eye to the chalet. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

Visitei Chamonix-Mont Blanc num dia de muita neve e mesmo assim estava lindo e rendeu-me muitas fotos (pena que ainda com minha Sony Cybershot!). Sua foto est� muito boa, com um ponto de vista muito bem escolhido para compor essa linda imagem! O controle da luminosidade foi muito bem realizado e a nitidez, que n鉶 est� exagerada, combina muito bem com o clima da foto! Como j� deve saber, gosto muito de reflexos e gostei bastante do que nela nos apresenta!

Another charming shot of Chamonix. The reflections on the pond are relly fine, but I like also the deep slope of the mountain at the right which forms a diagonal and the trees at the sides of the pond which frames the photo.
