Croix de la Cime, Saint-Chaffrey, Hautes-Alpes.

Walking by the ridge of Peyrolles is like touching the sky and enjoy 360-degree panoramas throughout the course. As often on the peaks, several crosses have marked our path. Perched at 2,606 meters above sea level, the Cross of the Cime is one of the high points of our trip of the day.

The landscape is clearly rocky, grass is clean, the sun beats down. The loop we have done also crosses areas of forest and undergrowth, and the path meanders through some beautiful carpets of rhododendrons.

A beautifully chosen composition on thirds which shows off both the wild rocky landscape and the perfectly lit cross to perfection. I love the sense of solitude in this image. Thanks for sharing

You have given the cross a very strong position in the frame, standing proudly against the sky and with a wild, rocky landscape as a b/g.
There is nothing to take away attention from this iconic, focal symbol!

Hello Delphine,
The giant cross (or so it looks) dwarfs the Alpine scenery. Your composition gives it a very dramatic appearance, and this is certainly a spectacular place for a cross. Living in a Protestant and very secular country I never see anything like this around my neighborhood. Is this an expression of faith in places where people feel closer to God, or a way of begging for protection from accidents, or maybe a memorial to those unfortunate who fell to their death here?

A hot day of 36c here in Dubrovnik so the sight of even a little snow on the highest peaks is a welcome sight. Good sharpness and excellent color and saturation. The vertical cross id well positioned on the 1/3 axis. Tfs.

Une belle vue sur les sommets environnants avec en prime la croix au premier plan qui domine le paysage et donne de la profondeur � l'image. A cette altitude, on voit bien des choses � l'horizon. Belle impression d'immensit� dans une compo bien 閝uilibr閑. Une image simple mais bien r閍lis閑.

A very imposing cross at hi altitude you've got right there emphasised by getting closer and compositionally great too, having it slightly off centre helps the eye to appreciate the bg and sky behind. A calm & peaceful observational shot all conveying appreciation of nature beauty with religious touch. Well done, Congrats
