Orpierre, Hautes-Alpes.

Orpierre became a stronghold of the Princes of Orange since the fourteenth century, following the marriage of Mary Baux, heir to the Principality of Orange, and Jean de Chalon, Baron of Orpierre and Trescl閛ux. The road that connects the barony of Orpierre to Orange, the capital of the principality, was then a busy road between Avignon and Italy.
In 1956, the route linking the ancient cities partners becomes a tourist route and takes the name of the "Princes of Orange Road".

In WS, two pedestrian streets of Orpierre. Lots of houses were closed, which suggests that these are second homes.

da questa foto si ha l'esatta sensazione di essere sovrastati dalle montagne, la bella prospettiva della strada sembra infrangersi contro la parete rocciosa.
Due foto interessanti per scoprire questo villaggio.

Good sharpness with a pleasant diffused light. The curving street adds good lead in lines and perspective. The flowerpots provide an additional splash of color. And the bg cliff covered in hardy trees & shrubs makes a good backdrop. Tfs!

Hello Delphine,
This is a very nice street lined with quite pretty houses and a lot of fine plants. You composed and cropped this well using the steep, green hillside as a background. I like this rather tight view without any sky visible. It's a very neat photo with excellent exposure and colours.

A great view of the old world for its charm which becomes a source of attraction, revealing its architectural appeal that deserved the capture even without a single soul on sight. I love the soothing tones and clarity with lovely speck of vivid colour to hook the eye whereas the green backdrop is in perfect harmony. Indeed a nicely done shot so pleasing in the eyes. Congrats.

Une vue magnifique de la rue dans une courbe, ce qui nous donne une plus grande vision des belles fa鏰des, bien d閏or閑 avec des plantes, la chaleur de ses couleurs, donne le charme de ces id閍ux gens de Provence, la montagne escarp閑, � droite derri鑢e les maisons est un magnifique arri鑢e-plan.

A 'classic' presentation of one of those lovely narrow village streets that leads the eye into the picture, and almost, but not quite, around the bend. The steep slope behind adds a dramatic element to the composition. Very nicely done, and a good note.

I'm sure you're right about second homes: the street does indeed look unnaturally deserted. It's of course a beautiful place and a beautiful photograph, with strong lead-lines of the receeding houses and steep hillside beyond, blocking out the sky. I wonder how long you'd have had to wait for a couple of old locals to appear in the frame... BTW, I applaud the naturalness of your colour palette!
