Ciao, Giacomo

Bonjour mon ami, Philippe,
We are older and where is the time of the hand washed cloths, without electricity!
We get lovely details too see.
Create an excellent panoramic image.
Nice composition, excellent presentation.
very well done, TFS.
Bon-weekend,
John.

Bonjour mon ami, Philippe,
Excellent sharpness and punchy light contrasts and although we don't see the actual washing area I do remember even as late as the early 1960's what a chore it was for my mother to wash clothes and linens, with only several tubs and hand powered wringers. We used to used the 2 clothes line supports as goal posts as kids, before rotary clothes hoists became all the rage. Tfs!

Hello Philippe,
I like the point of view, which sets this well preserved lavoir in its surroundings. Agreeable lights and colours and very good sharpness. I wonder what the modern day housewife used to her fully automatic washing machine would do faced with this?

Bonjour Philippe
A nice historical picture that shows us how a "washing machine" used to look. Now quiet and deserted without colourful laundry and diligent housewives but still with a pot of geraniums.
beautiful presentation.
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Bonjour Philippe,

Bonsoir Philippe,
A business that lost its value to the modern era when washing machines were invented - but kept its charm as a nice pond with a veranda around. I see a green park beyond.
Bon-weekend,
Ike

Tempora mutantur, nos et mutamur in illis (Times are changed, we also are changed with them), I am happy to have an electric washing machine, maybe our grandchildren will have self-cleaning clothes ;)

Hi Philippe
From the look of it, this wash-house is very well maintained with fresh flow of water and no shortage of it. A great depiction of a thing of the past. It's tranquil rural scene with excellent combination of earthy tone and fresh green. I think mono conversion would appear to have been taken a hundred years ago!! Excellent shot, Congrats
Best regards

Hello Philippe,
So, how did they make sure everybody could take turns using these washhouses, did they have appointment books? 👌👌

philippe

Marie-Louise.
