Bike jump, a photo from Aquitaine, West

Grey day outside, confined in my flat I was reading a book when I heard some children voices outsite. There were 3 boys biking along my south balcony. Why not try a panning effect? Choose a long exposure (between 1/10s and 1/30s), focus on the middle of the road and lock the framing, 5 frames per second and wait. Luckily, he was jumping on the speed breaker and there was a pale sunshine ray showing that the shadow is not linked to the bike: he is flying....
They drove 3 times in font of me, 1/2h on my balcony for less than a second in my images. But they made my afternoon.

Bonjour Claude,

What a fine way to pass the time and come away with a shot like this!

First a little girl on a blue bike, then a bigger girl on a pink bike and now an older boy on a bigger green bike, going faster and taking off from the speed bump!

Your panning technique for this particular shot was absolutely perfect! And no-one needs to know how many disastrous attempts you had - this one is a winner!

Brilliant!
