Photographer's Note
I spent three days in this charming city but I cannot say that I was lucky with the weather. It was raining all the time with small breaks which I could spare to leave the hostel and take some photos.
Dresden's Zwinger Palace is famous the world over as a masterpiece of baroque architecture dating back to the time of Augustus the Strong. It's no wonder that this remarkable building is now one of the main attractions in the state capital of Saxony.
Dresden's Zwinger Palace was built in 1709 as a venue for tournaments and other court games played by the nobility in Saxony. The Long Gallery was created in 1712, whilst the Crown Gate, the most frequently photographed part of the entire attraction, has existed since 1714. Zwinger Palace was officially inaugurated in 1719 at the wedding of Frederick Augustus to Maria Josepha, the daughter of the Habsburg Emperor. The building was then ultimately completed in 1728, when it was ready to house its magnificent collections.
Most of the rooms inside the palace are now home to museums, including the Dresden Porcelain Collection, which is one of the largest in the world. The armory is without doubt another highlight, featuring a magnificent collection of weaponry and garments. The Semper Gallery is also well worth a visit since it contains a globally significant collection of paintings dating from the Renaissance to the Baroque period, including The Sistine Madonna by Raphael. Another charming nearby attraction is the Nymph Bath, one of the most stunning baroque fountains that Germany has to offer.

Hello Zbigniew,
The many rich details of the architecture here look great and you captured them very well and with good clarity. The golden parts of the large gate at left stand out well from the sky.

Hi Zbigniew
At least overcast and wet conditions can result in very even light so there are no deep shadows to worry about. A good one of this grand palace.
cheers

Hello Zbigniew,
Although I have been to Dresden and was impressed with what I saw, I have not been to this palace. Maybe another time. I like the onion dome crown on the gate at left. Tfs!

Hi Zbigniew,
The dome is eyecatching. The point of view is showing the details of the Zwinger Palace. The light is giving nice tints to the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Hi Zbigniew
sorry to hear about the weather, that's really too bad, and this is such a photogenic city as well. the sky may not be attractive, but you framed and composed the scene really well here. its got that 3D like visual effect and it flows nicely from right to left with depth. cheers
