Photographer's Note
Not the best weather, but better to get a shot than no shot at all, sometimes. The Frauenkirche is at right and the QF Passage and shopping mall are at left. Amazingly, this area was still in ruins after WW2 as recently as 1990. Behind me in 2014, the rubble had been cleared but the ruins were still there. I believe even those ruins have now been paved over. The market Square is known as Neumarkt (Newmarket).

Bonsoir Chris,
La pr閟ence des personnes anime la sc鑞e. La prise de vue permet de voir les d閠ails de l'間lise Notre-Dame et des immeubles. La lumi鑢e rehausse. Les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soir閑.

Hello Chris,
From a visit in 1970 I remember Frauenkirche as a heap of stones. I have no memory of the houses next to it, and judging from their style they were probably also rebuilt later as exact copies of the pre-war block. They're quite nice, even though perhaps not as magnificent as the church. The weather was okay for a clear photo with good colours and contrasts.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Chris,
I've seen a few shots of this spot on TE recently. I like this composition, including not only the beautiful church, but a lot of the architecture beside it, too. The variety of colors and styles are great. Take care!

Hi Chris,
of course I always prefer the sunshine but as long as there is nice light the picture can be, like here, attractive, and with architecture so pretty, we can still enjoy and appreciate its beauty.
Nice angle wehere you have included the townhouses which are ending up in the Frauenkirche.
Very well seen and captured,
M

Dresden old town was wholly reconstruct after WW2, Chris, and seeing this picture enable to comprehend the massive rebuilding it had gone since.
Wonderfully combined the two prominent architecture's styles, POV include street level and the top of the dome's tower.
Good afternoon,

Hello Chris,
This is a splendid building!
What a surprise to learn that it has only relatively recently been resurrected from the war damage!
The curved, multicoloured f/g building, with its multitude of windows, has a certain elegance. It contrasts strongly with the design of church but that is quite pleasing.
I have done a little w/s to remove the lens distortion.
I hope you approve.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris
we see alot of photos from Dresden on TE, i guess i'll have to put this place on my to visit list. its impossible to avoid the camera lens distortion here, being so close and the buildings being so tall. I don't mind it anyways. funny to read that's a shopping mall, quite different from shopping malls here in Canada! nice one
cheers
