Photographer's Note
Germany is not only a country of beautiful landscapes but also a country with a great cultural heritage 鄋d a history with with some incredible depths. Here in Weimar was the capital of the republic just before the nazi's took over to draw the people in a deep sinkhole.
On the photo the poets Goethe and Schiller who stand for the rich cultural German heritage.

Hi Gerrit,
It is a beautiful note about Germany and its beauty.
Fantastic presentation showing two of its most famous writers set against a great architecture.
I suppose many of us have an ambivalent attitude towards Germany. We admire but we remember. In the Netherlands I heard there was a funny situation when one of the old generation people told the German TV station: "I want my bike back!"
Great reportage,
M

Hi Gerrit
Unfortunately the Nazis drew most of Europe into a giant sinkhole, and large parts of west Russia too. The good news is that they lost. Nice that some or even all of the town of Weimar survived. Many large German cities were less fortunate. Tfs!

Goedemiddag Gerrit,
Inderdaad Duitsland heeft een grote geschiedenis.
Het standbeeld pronkt echt voor het mooie gebouw.
Met een groot architectuur waarde.
Alles mooi helder en scherp gepresenteerd.
Mooi foto werk, bedankt.

Hallo Gerrit,
Ik wil graag ook Weimar nog een keer bezoeken, inderdaad vanwege de combinatie van geschiedenis en cultuur. Mooie, zonnige foto van deze twee dichters voor het klassieke gebouw.

Hello Gerrit,
You have used a good viewpoint to give the poets a really good sense of importance, emphasised by the grandeur of the building behind them.
The photograph also works well because the verdigris of the statues stands out well against the pale stonework of the building.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Gerrit
It must be a popular landmark in town, with good detail captured both on the statue and the classic building. I love how the catchy patina holds the focus hence binding the elements handsomely. Excellent take and tx to your brief notes
Best wishes
