Flood disaster in Rhineland-Palatinate 21.
I published a similar capture taken six weeks after the floodings. Now 100 days are gone. What has happened since, in a place where water stood 2 m deep on streets and in houses?
The noise of picks, axes and drill hammers removing water soaked floor screed and wall plaster has calmed down. What you hear now is the constant humming of dehydrators collecting the remaining humidity from floor and walls before reconstruction can start.
The entire pedestrian zone is closed. Not a single shop or restaurant is open, and it is impossible to get a decent cup of coffee unless you go to one of the emergency stations for the flood-stricken. They hope to push economical life by installing a pop-up mall in tents and containers outside the city wall which should open in November.
To be continued.

Hi Sven, interesting return to the places of the terrifying flood, still all closed but there is little time left for the return to normalcy, finally. There are still signs of what happened, in the meantime if you want to have a good coffee, I'll wait for you in my bar .... ahaha .... Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Salut Sven,

Just like in the towns hit in Wallonia, it takes a lot time to clear everything. The windows still shut, the shops closed...a sad sight. We need time, but there's hope.
Good picture to share, Sven Erich.
Interesting to see how things are at the moment.
Benny
