Photographer's Note
Like a river, the Schlei winds its way from the Baltic coast to the town of Schleswig, 40 km away. However it is not a river but a coastal inlet. The water is not particularly deep. The Schlei valley was carved out during the last Ice Age, when the entire region was covered in a thick layer of glacial ice. After the glaciers melted, fresh water collected in the Schlei valley, which was then flooded by the Baltic Sea about 7,000 years ago. The result is a mixture of fresh and salt water that is tolerated by both freshwater and saltwater fish.
The Schlei and its shores are regarded as one of the most beautiful landscapes in Schleswig-Holstein. A tiny village called Sieseby has remained almost unchanged during the centuries. The entire village is a protected monument and still belongs to the former ruling house of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Gluecksburg.

Hello Harriet,
The low point of view is very effective using the stones as a lead-line to draw the viewer into the scene towards the stone house in the background. I also like the soft lights and agreeable natural tones. The image has excellent clarity.

Hello Harriet,
You choose a very well angle low about the stones of the edges of the river.
The picture create a lot of depth and perspective.
Also a nice perspective through the choice of your angle.
Sharpness and clarity be superb.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,

Hello Harriet,
I love the mild colours of this photo, from the grey clouds to the greenish stones . Some of the buildings look very interesting with their thatched roofs (as far as I can see). This is an altogether very pleasant view of the small village, the trees seen against the sky and the dry reeds growing along the water. The long line of mossy rocks provide a very good and original foreground.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Harriet,
you have photographed this quiet natural setting in a very interesting way, filling the vertical frame and creating an inviting perspective. All the natural elements are attractive and the houses offer reference and make us think of how people relate to this place. The light is timid and mild, it produces a palette of pastel hues, consistent and agreeable. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,
Ourania

The green stones made a nice focal points on pic. space, harriet, and good view up the shore towards the houses.
One suggestion though: In this case, I tend to give-up the clouds above, since those made a slight "patchy" sky for the whole. Would crop just above the left side tree canopy. My humble opinion. Prepared a WS, will post only if you allow me.
Sincerely,
Ike

Hello Harriet,
I like this composition with the mossy stones anchoring the foreground and providing great perspective as well as a good lead-in to the remainder of the image. The natural surroundings along with the thatched cottages give the place a lot of charm. A beautiful spot and you captured it well.

Hi Harriet
Very fine POV making the green rocks in the Schleisuch a dominating featute in the composition. The familiar looking houses in the BG confirm my oppinion that nature is the most interesting when it meets culture. It is a really nice photo. And it makes me look foreward to the trip I shall do soon - visiting Wismar with my family
Cheers

hello Harriet,
Charming picture. Like in all your photos, very quiet atmosphere. It is so peaceful there. Amazing. I like such thatched roofs. Pale colours but they look very attractive. The mossy stones form a low POV give great depth to the composition.

Hello Harriet,
This is an excellent composition.
I applaud your decision to use a low pov which has used the details, textures and patterns of the stones and rocks to great advantage.
The buildings are an essential part of the shot, creating character and interest; they appear to be peeping demurely from the cover of trees and grasses.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hallo Harriet,
