Photographer's Note
You may think that I made a mistake in the title. The typically British phrase which goes back to at least Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979) says: “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life”. But let me explain what I mean. There is a popular story which I will try to remind you here first.
On a dark night in a city a man walking a street notices another man who is searching something on the ground around a lamppost. The passer-by wants to help, he asks:
“What are you looking for?”
“I lost my keys”
“Did you lose them here around the lamppost?”
“No, I lost them much further there down the street”
“So why do you look for them here?”
“Because there is so much more light here”.
This photo presents the town hall of Lüneburg. It is one of the most attractive buildings in the town. It has a wonderful elaborate façade which is however facing east. I arrived near the town hall in the afternoon so unfortunately the lovely façade was covered in shade. In this photo you see the view of the town hall from the south. Now coming back to the story, and my title. Yes the most attractive view of the town hall is from a different side, but I prefer to show you the view from this side from which the light was so much better.

Hello Mariusz,
I usually experience it as a real setback when I get somewhere, see something very beautiful and then realize that the light will no longer come out of the right position before I have to leave.
Then being retired gives a big advantage. You no longer have to rush and can stay longer everywhere ... at least if the local cost of living offers an advantage over the place where you live.
Or you can include a kid and call your photo a daily life-shot :)
Honestly, it's always interesting to see buildings or monuments or whatever from a less obvious angle.
I like the brightness, the attractive colours and the composition of the photo.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Mariusz,
Always look at the bright side of things... nice title chosen, and I guess you tried to include the boy and the whole tower atop of the picture.
used the coordinated on the map to see that it was taken from the corner of the pedestrian road, a slightly difficult POV. Nonetheless, managed quite a nice outcome from this side.
Have a nice sunday,
Ike

Ciao Mariusz, very nice the funny story in the notes, in fact the light is always decisive, and even in this photo, maybe not the best POV but certainly the best way to get a great brilliance, interesting view that once again seems to have been made with a digital camera. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Mariusz,
You are turning into a philosopher! 😁
Light is very important in photography and if you want to reveal the beauty of a building then sunlight is an important factor. I agree with you, move to the sunny aspect for the best possible result.
The town hall is captured with excellent clarity.
In addition, from this viewpoint, the lamppost makes a good f/g feature, whilst the young boy, facing the town hall, is acting as a subtle guide.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Hello Mariusz,
It is a really attractive building indeed and you captured it from a great angle. Good inclusion of the shaded façade at left, whose windows add some appealing reflections. Also the boy admiring the same view is well included. I guess, Lüneburg would be an interesting destination to visit, let's hope it will be possible again soon.

Hi Mariusz
I've heard that story before.
A good photo of the great looking town hall and the boy standing there studying it adds to the image.
cheers

Czesc Mariusz!
Fantastic warm cold colour contrasts between the red tiled roofs and the blue sky. The boy looking upwards in the fg is a nice detail. Tfs!

mariusz
it is a beautiful tower with different styles and levels. the boy watching the tower is a nice aspect of the compo. of course the light was perfect as you prefer. the joke sounds like the jokes brazilians say about portuguese, where they have a role of idiots.. haha. I hate portuguese jokes but it was worst when I was a kid.
take care

Hello Mariusz.
Very interesting text to introduce us to the vision of this beautiful composition, in any case as we do not know the other side of the City Hall, it seems fantastic to us, with its height and set of roofs, and behind the sensational tower.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and the magnificent composition; they are all perfectly managed factors, in this beautiful image.
Well done. I like very much.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.
