Photographer's Note
This house still stands near the eastern entrance of Dernau, Ahr valley. It was flooded on July 14, 2021 and is now intended to be torn down. Meanwhile, it serves as a piece of wall art, full of graffiti, some of which by an artist, and has been named "Flutkunsthaus" = flood art house.
You will find several cruel markings on it, especially the level which the floods reached (red marking beside right window, 1st floor). Four persons have been evacuated by helicopter from the balcony at noon, July 15.

Another scen of art popping up where perhaps you won't expect it. Rays of hope for this stricken area!
