Photographer's Note

The Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro Stadium) was built in the years 330-329 BC of white marble by Lykourgos for the Panathenaic Games.
This is one of the most significant reconstructed ancient buildings in Athens. It was refurbished for the Olympic Games in 1896. The stadium has a length of 204.7 m and a width of 33.35 m and can accommodate 80,000 spectators.

I wouldn't want to sit there in Greek summer heat.It is a very impressive reconstruction and a good panoramic view.

Hello Ryszard,
The WS shows us the stadium as we usually see it, so from this angle it makes quite a different impression. It looks very big and it is very elegant, but in this wide view I get a strong sense of the unbearable heat of watching the events on a hot day in summer.

Beautiful details such as the blue sky with the friendly clouds, your tight flags where we can see that it is quite windy and the visitors walking around and giving dimension to the photo.

very cool and attractive visual you have produced, its so unique, we don't see shots like this on TE. Its almost like seeing a bird with its wings out, flying up in the air. You could have cropped the photo above the set of clouds, eliminating the top cloud, just to clean up the top portions a bit..but thats a minor detail - its awesome, one of my favourite shots of the day! cheers
