a house by the sea, a photo from Dodekanisos, South Aegean

Photographer's Note

This must be the most isolated and the loneliest house on the island. It's in Fakoudia, in the north-west, facing north, and can be accessed only from the sea or after a long hike on the mountain. It belonged to a renowned heart surgeon of Lerian origin, who worked for several years in Houston. He passed away a few years ago and I think that the house is visited very rarely now. There's a nice beach in the curve of the inlet at its feet.

Hello Ourania,
No noisy neighbours and a nice beach just nearby, that sounds ideal. On the other hand... ;-)
Strangely located buildings like this fascinate me. Life could be fairly tough in a place like this, so it's hardly a place for those needing at least a minimum of comfort. There is probably a fair chance that this building will join the long line of abandoned homes slowly deteriorating. But what a nice view it makes, and what a nice composition you made with the small tree and the thorny bushes balancing the small islets. There is also a nice diagonal dividing the land from the sea.

Owned by a man that wanted to be at peace with himself; I don't think it would suit me. I like your composition with the house placed amidst this beautiful coastal scenery. Very agreeable lights and colours and excellent clarity. The spindly trees on the left add a touch of graphism and contribute to the great sense of depth.

bisogna avere un buon occhio per vedere quella piccola casa in mezzo a questo immenso panorama.
Bella composizione, mi piace l'effetto della roccia in primo piano, cos� solida, in contrapposizione all'orizzonte misterioso e poco visibile.

Yes I had better agree with your opinion. It seems so difficiult to go shopping daily commodities. So seeply considered framewrok and tasty color touch. Bended treemaybe by the strong the sea wind is very good accent.
