Photographer's Note

An unfinished sculpture of a ship on a rock , is under the north wall of the Lindos- Acropolis, Rhodos .
After a climb from the village this place is on left side of the stairs to the temple.
Someone did not finish his work�

A square format well selcetd for this close-up rich in details well collected. The textures of the stone, the colors and the contrasts are too well collected.

Great composition with these ancient rocks, fascinating as it retains the unfinished size of the boat on the rock, its silhouette is perfect.

Hello Ike, Interesting view of this sculpture . One views this and wonders what might have happened that it was not finished. Good light and composition. This is a place I have not visited . Perhaps some day. I am sure you have some more interesting shots from here. Regards Roger

The point of view is showing with precision the details and colors of the architecture of the sculpture of the boat in the rock. It is well placed in the frame. The re is a good contrast between the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

nice detail of the artwork not finished. sometimes it is difficult to take nice images of this kind of carving, here the indirect light created a nice view. We can imagine what happened with the artist.

Hello Ike,

Someone was trying to carve a ship on the rock and whatever the reason, didn't finish it. We can see the imprints very well. Nice sharp image with details captured very well.

Hello Ike,
Schubert did not finish his symphony but that does not stop orchestras all around the world from performing it. Finishing an artwork is optional, it seems, one still has great art in the unfinished product. TFS!

Hello Ike,

Wouldn't you just love to be an archaeologist, discovering and researching such ancient artefacts! I wonder who it was who found this unfinished boat! And, I wonder who it was who had to cease sculpting it!
You know, I had no idea that this was a scan until I read your notes.
It has scanned with sharpness and very credible colours.
