Photographer's Note
Having a series on Athens without the Parthenon is kind of odd, so here it goes my cliché. Don't think I made an effort to find something original, I don't value that too much and it is a much of a challenge to me in places like the Acropolis of Athens. The only reason I am not showing a panoramic view is that the cranes, scaffolds and the crowd made me think that it wasn't worth pushing the shutter. I am bad at getting minimally decent compos having many people crossing my field of view all the time and cranes and scaffolds don't sound like a good visual companion to a Greek temple.
• WS's: View towards southeast from near the POV, where we can view the Theatre of Dionysus and the brand new Acropolis Museum, which replaced a much smaller and older museum located just beside the POV [#1-wider view, #2-closer view]

Jose,
This is a well composed shot of the ruins with a wonderful blue sky behind. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness.

Hi José,
A beautiful detail shot the of the great building. Years ago I had drawn an architectural portrait of exactly the same set of four columns in the facade, and just searched through the gallery of drawings I have in my website, and could not find it. The horse head and the leg of the reclining figure at the top is that unmistakable detail. We stood at exactly the same spot three decades apart. The pristine marble columns against the blue of the sky is so dramatic here.
Warm regards, José,
Bulent

Hi José: Finely closed on the details of the ruin. Texture is so well exposed against the saturated blue sky. The cranes in the bg suggests that restoration is in progress. I agree with your view on clicking the shutter. Regards. Jusni

Hola Jose.

Cumprimentos,

Hola Jose
Not the best time of the day to take a picture but we don't feel it too much because your boue is nice and the contrasts present, apparently it was a challenging task to find an angle avoiding scaffoldings
have a nice day JY

Hello Jose,
I think you managed to capture the Parthenon quite nicely. The cranes and scaffolding do not bother me, that's life. And I think this close POV makes for a more original shot than the panorama would, and you achieved a people-free architecture shot that way, which was your point. You did quite well managing the difficult light, too.
TFS and have a nice weekend, Dasha

Hi José,
The blue sky makes a great background for the detailed old structure. Excellent light and contrasts. Good job!

Good choice indeed, I perfectly agree with the difficulty of having too many people crowding the view (I had the same problem in Machu Picchu), and you managed to isolate a very good detail view of this legendary landmark. We could (with some effort) remove the cranes in the frame, but the scaffoldings are much more difficult to handle.

Hi Jose.
thank you for the comments. Yes, You are right, Calatrava projects are very attractive by their unusual idea and design and always are good for being on photographs.
These ruins are very well seen and good capture taken. As well nice contrast of white columns and deep blue color of sky.
Attractive photo!
Regards.
Mike
