Moonlight serenade, a photo from Dodekanisos, South Aegean

Photographer's Note

View of the picturesque harbor of Kastellorizo (or "Meghisti") island under a full moon. Kastellorizo is one of the most beautiful Greek islands. It is also one of the smallest and it's definitely the most remote. It belongs to Dodekanese (or "Dodekanisos", it means "12 islands") and it is located 72 miles east of Rhodes island, while its distance from the south Turkish coast and the town of Kas is only 1,25 miles. It has only one but really beautiful and colorful village with very interesting architecture. Its current population is around 400 people, while in its heyday (first decades of the 20th century) its population reached around 15.000 inhabitants.

Kastellorizo was the shooting location for the Italian film "Mediterraneo" that won the Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Foreign Language Film in 1991.

It is really the ideal place for quite and peaceful vacations, it's quite a "timetravel"!

Πολύ όμορφη εικόνα από το ωριαο Καστελόριζο...πολύ καλή σκέψη και εκτέλεση..εκπληκτικά συμετρικό πλαίσιο με όμορφα χρώματα, πιστεύω θα ήταν θα ήταν ακόμη καλύτερο άμα απεικονιζόταν η κουρτίνα και από την άλλη πλευρά..αλλά είμαι συγουρος ότι δεν ήταν στο χέρι σου :) πολύ καλή δουλειά

buena composici髇 en formato vertical. Me gusta c髆o has utilizado la puerta del balc髇, con la peque馻 mesa y las sillas en el primer plano, para crear un bonito marco que nos introduce en un paisaje precioso.
El pueblo con su arquitectura blanca, con una bonita iluminaci髇, y el paisaje de la costa, todo bajo la luz de la luna llena, son elementos fant醩ticos para conseguir un gran nivel est閠ico en la composici髇.
Excelente gesti髇 de la exposici髇 y de los colores.

I would like to have a house with such a magnificent view, and here, with the colors given by the full Moon,it's still more beautiful.The sea and the sky are incredibly blue,in a perfect harmony,and I love the row of colorful houses.Superb!

This is indeed the ultimate romantic scene! There is a strong feeling of intimacy with the two chairs out on the balcony, with the moonlight above and the beautiful view over the harbour. An excellent frame with these doors and panelframes.
