Old & New, a photo from Etoloakarnania, Central Greece

Photographer's Note

Here you can see the castle of Antirion (also known as "Castello di Rumelia") with its lighthouse and part of the Rion-Antirion bridge, that became sort of a "symbol" of "modern" Greece, "symbol" of "powerful" Greece, bla, bla, bla, according to our politicians. That was until the big bubble exploded and everything collapsed.

Now, they don't even have the money to illuminate it properly, at least, the way they used to do on a Saturday night with its pillars "bathed" in a beautiful electric blue.

maybe it's now only the saturday night illuminated like this, bu maybe it will be more appreciated if it's less often.And it's better for the planet to use less electricity;.)
Anyway, the picture is superb, I like the g=contrast of the blue with the golden colors very much, and the reflection has an incredible clarity.Magnificent!

your picture has several great details: the eletric blue light of the sky...the contrast between modern and old...the reflection in the puddle.

Good Morning Hercules,

Maybe there is a lesson to be learned from your shot, even without all the previous lights the bridge looks amazing. This is such a beautifully composed shot, full of contrasts: the old and the new, the light and the dark, the natural and the man-made, the water and the rock, the real and the reflected.
A wonderful, sharp blue hour shot with excellent use of the light.
