Photographer's Note
The Caryatids Porch of the Erechtheion is one of the classic views of the Acropolis of Athens. The sculptures seen here are actually replicas, because the originals are kept in the Acropolis Museum (five of them) and in the British Museum (the sixth).
In the workshop you have a wider POV. An earlier post of mine shows the porch and the Erechtheion in context, from a farther POV.

Ola Jose,
The 5 lady's statues looks similar, but when looking carefully on details, each is different.
A marvelous location above the city skylie, and superb daylight on the big stones that endured since ancient times. Bom WS as well.
Boa tardes,

Bonjour, José,
Les cariatides supportant l'architrave sont de toute beauté (architecturale). Quel bonheur de pouvoir contempler un tel spectacle de nos jours.
Enchanté.

Hello Jose
The age of these caryatids alone makes them noteworthy and photogenic, and you've done them justice with the raking light and just sufficient background to give the sculptures context. Shame you couldn't have removed the ladder on the right, and I might have been tempted to clone away those blue/white squares around the base. Cheating I know!

Dear Jose,
The statue of five ladies were carrying the roof of beautiful architecture, though their pose and posture are almost same but to some extent they are all different, I like your composition with sharpness and framing.
warm regards,

Hi Jose
Powerful and impressive even with replicas, a very well constructed and well captured in deep colour, immaculate detail, textures and warm tones showing the best light of the day. The intense blue sky creates a great overall contrast. A good catch, well worked too, Congrats.
Best regards

Hola Jose.
Esplendida esta imagen, con este plano corto, que nos muestra la gran belleza del porche, con las inigualables cariátides, precioso el efecto de luces y sombras, que realza las texturas de las esculturas.
Un magnifico trabajo.
Que tengas una buena noche.
Saludos.
Luis.

Bonjour, José,
Good to see the original again after seeing the idea copied in architecture all over Europe. A nice blue sky that sets off the white marble nicely. Reasonable sharpness considering a zoom lens is mandatory here. It was roped off from public access last year. Tfs!

Hi Jose
Caryatids are such fantastic subjects aren't they!
Perhaps many hundreds of years ago they were much much more common - today not so much at all.
when I was here only a few months ago, it was fascinating trying to image what this site looked like in its prime.
you came away with a fine photo from your visit.
the ladder on the right is a reminder of the constant work being done in and around the site.
thanks for this one
cheers

Hello José,
the ladies certainly have a headache from the weight of the roof. ;-)
A unique detail image of Greece. Great colors and a crisp sharpness. This picture is both interesting and really beautiful. Congratulations!
All the best
Peter
