Skaftafellsj鰇ull

The last full day on Iceland started very promising. Full sunsine and a beautiful view of the foothills of the Vatnaj鰇ull, the largest glacier in Iceland.

We are on the south side of the Vatnaj鰇ull National Park and have a great view of the Skaftafellsj鰇ull, one of the many glacier toes in this area.
The three photos are taken from about the same place. We look to the north. We see the lovely plain in the foreground, with different grasses, mosses and plants, but here too the blue-purple of the lupine predominates.
The plain seems to continue to the glacier edge. Behind the glacier we see the mountain-ridge that encloses the ice flow.
At the workshop photos we zoom out and see a larger part of the landscape.
