Photographer's Note
Getting back to some of my favourite types of photography, abstract modern architecture.
This is the Opera House in Reykjavik. Its a large Ice Cube shaped glass structure, with repeating glass cubes as windows. I had so much fun here taking a variety of shots. Its a great subject to practice your composition creativity.
In the WS is a photo taken from the Inside Out, opposite to this one, so you get a sense of scale of how large these cubes are.

Hi Craig,an architecture that I only saw from afar because we arrived in Reykjavik late at night and left early, which I remember very well, however. Two large photos played with the geometries of the completely transparent structures, are photographs that I like very much too. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Craig,
This is an original composition. The point of view is showing the details of the glass structure of the Opera House. The light is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hello Craig,
Yes, this is as far as you can get to make modern architecture look abstract. With this close view and tight crop it's really impossible to understand what we see. Dimensions and function are all lost in a quite exciting way. I know you had fun taking this. Without the WS I would be lost.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Craig, I love this!
Thanks for the workshop shots as I wouldn't know the scale or the context of this beauty without them.
I really like the way that you have composed this, with that dark triangle on the left h/s.
Any one of the three could have been a main post, but this is great as it has us guessing, always a good intro to a set of pictures.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Craig,
This is an amazing reportage and so much easier to imagine with the workshop photos included.
Each picture shows a different puzzle of the full picture.
Iceland is yet on my list of countries to visit. It is quite expensive but also it is probably more worth to go there for longer to enjoy the more distant areas which makes it even more expensive, not speaking that this is not something what my daughter would enjoy :(
Great work,
M

Hi Craig,
A good abstract geometry study. It is difficult to guess the scale. The workshop shows that it's larger than I thought. It looks more like a honeycomb from the inside. I like the way a few windows are tinted. Great colours and sharpness.

Hello Craig,
I have seen several photos of the modern opera building in Reykjavik and would really like to see it myself one day too. The shapes of all those glass cubes are wonderful and you had such wonderful lighting here, which adds such wonderful colours to the photo as well.

Hello Craig,
This opera house offers endless photo opportunities, and with your keen eye you captured another great one. I like this crop, and the frame filled with these glass shapes. There are different colors to break up the repeating pattern, too. Very nice!

Hello Craig,
I remember the picture similar to your first WS.
The other photo in the WS gives us a second good view of the remarkable design of the opera house.
Personally, I do not find the detailed picture as appealing as when one sees the building in its entirety. But probably very interesting for engineers and architects.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Craig.
These three compositions are sensational, original and very creative, thanks to the one that shows the glass cubes from the inside together with the people, giving us the idea of their large size that otherwise we would not have been able to imagine, volumes, geometric play and colors are fantastic.
Sharpness, lighting and color very well managed.
Well done. I like it.
Have a good weekend.
Luis.
