Photographer's Note
This is another picture taken some time ago of Connolly's Folly just outside Leixlip. There is a lot of history surrounding this monument and it is a pity to see it in the condition it is today. This is another example of one of my early attempts at digital photography and where I lost most of the detail due to compression. A lot of the detail has been lost in the lower left corner but it appears to look better on TFT rather than CRT.

Nice use of B&W. Very striking image. Nice clear image with good detail. TFS.

The cloudless sky and bright sun provide a perfect backdrop, showing the shape of the monument very clearly. The slightly grainy look actually (for me) adds to the feeling of age and a forgotten time.
