Photographer's Note

An impressive sight at this view due north on the western cliff of Porto-Venere, taken from the old walls at the St.-Pietro church which is built upon a giant rock at the edge of the bay, shown on the map at 44.0487, 9.8325 .

Picture taken with my spare camera, was drawn from my archives, a trip to Liguria in 06/2012.

Hi Ike

If you liked Cinque Terre, you would love the Amalfi coast south of Naples, which is even more spectacular. The hilltop castle provides a good focal point. A pleasant seascape to boot. Tfs!

Hello Ike,
This is a dramatic and scenic coastline with waves splashing onto the steep rocks. I get an impression of a fairly windy day. I like the cyan coloured sea. The inclusion of two persons in the corner adds an element of excitement.

Ike, the sea was rough that day. A fortress is established on the top of the cliff. The church walls in stone protect the monument against the waves. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Ike,

The church must be perilously close to the sea, to command a view, like this!
The viewpoint is great, anchoring the f/g, yet creating a fine sense of depth round the rocky cliff faces!
We have a tendency to follow the figures, from here to the castle on the hill but the journey reveals the danger and the difficulties!
A really exciting view of this seemingly wild coastline!

beautiful coastal view. When you were enjoying this trip I had about 1 month old daughter, which attracted most of my attention then.

In fact, I should post more from Italy. certainly not calm waters at this moment, combined with the grey clouds it makes for an atmospheric scene. lovely light and shadow combination too. Hello Ike,
Great view of the impressive and very rough coastline near La Spezia.
Here we look inland almost from in the sea. You searched for a good point of view to get this picture.
The white foam on the waves shows us with what force the sea is pounding the rocks.

Hi Ike.
Steep cliffs in this part of the coast, with great natural beauty, I see a couple walking in the foreground, for what seems to be a path between the rocks, at the top you can see a construction that looks like a fortress.
A magnificent color, which gives the image a lot of chromatic richness.
