Photographer's Note

A few years have passed since the Christmas holidays were closed for fear of the attacks of the Islamic state. The pandemic has also helped to eliminate this danger in Europe, and now the police can parade elegantly and dedicate themselves only to a mild control of who wears the masks or not. A peaceful Christmas, even if once again conditioned by restrictions, fortunately in Italy things are going very well. Photo taken in the main square of Bergamo Alta.

Sono passati pochi anni da quando le feste di Natale erano blindate per paura degli attentati dello stato islamico. La pandemia ha contribuito anche ad eliminare questo pericolo in Europa, e adesso le forze dell'ordine possono sfilare eleganti e dedicarsi solo ad un blando controllo di chi indossa o meno le mascherine. Un Natale di pace, anche se condizionato ancora una volta dalle restrizioni, fortunatamente in Italia le cose stanno andando molto bene. Foto scattata nella piazza principale di Bergamo Alta.

Interesantan pogled i trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lepe uniforme i sablje, dobro pokaznao sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
Dobar rad, lepa fotografija.
Corona i dalje uteruje strah kod ljudi i uzima zivote, strasno ali to nam je danasnjica, ko zna sta nas ceka sutra.

Hello Luciano,
Northern Italy and Sweden were both badly hit by the first wave, but temporarily the situation is now reasonably under control in both countries. But this can change rapidly, in a matter of days or at lest weeks. We have no idea what Christmas and the New Year will be like. For the time being there is hope, and we can only hope things will remain as calm as in this nice photo. Are these men actually policemen? You wouldn't find any police dressed like this in Sweden.

Those blokes aren't dressed like policemen, they're dressed like nobility. I doubt they would be able to protect the public in such fancy garb.

With Islamic State almost eradicated and vaccines now available, things are looking much better than March 2020 when Covid19 first hit Italy, and then Spain, with 30,000+ deaths in the space of a few short weeks in both countries. I watched the rapidly climbing fatalities with alarm. A good daily life scene of the police, with their symbolic blunted sword tips. Excellent sharpness and framing. We still have an unknown distance to travel with the Omicron variant and any subsequent strains, but things are now better than 2020. Tfs!

It seems the threats are coming and going. The Islamic extremists do not seem that much of a threat these days but the pandemic stays with us for another Christmas.
It seems wishing someone peaceful Christmas is a big wish these days.
Great uniforms. And the masks of course, sign of the times.

An interesting composition with these two policemen, very well equipped with that elegant uniform that looks like a holiday, I like the use of the cape, which is also a good coat, I think that Christmas presents a great risk of contagion increase even more.
Very effective coloring, which highlights the details of the image.

Hello Luciano,
I wouldn't dare say that attacks by Islamic extremists are over for good in Europe, although I hope you're right of course.
With the exception of the cap, I would never think of policemen when I saw these gentlemen.
They have to be cops going to a gala performance.
