First Christmas, a photo from Bergamo, Lombardia

Photographer's Note

New family, newcomer and the first Christmas for the little one, still too young to understand and who, like everyone else, will not remember his first Christmas. But he will surely be happy to see this magical atmosphere with lights and colors. The photo was taken in Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo, and shows the Palazzo della Ragione in the background. The palace was built at the end of the 12th century, between 1183 (the date on which the Peace of Constance was signed) and 1198, a time when the first municipal realities began to develop within the Holy Roman Empire. The palace suffered a serious fire in 1513 by the Spaniards but was promptly restored and has kept the same parts ever since. In the WS a complete view with the fountain which owes its name to Alvise Contarini, mayor of the Republic of Venice, who gave it to the citizens in 1780, when he left his post in the Orobic city.

Nuova famiglia, nuovo arrivato ed il primo Natale per il piccolo, ancora troppo piccolo per capire e che come tutti non si ricordera' di questo suo primo Natale. Ma sicuramente sara' contento di vedere questa atmosfera magica con luci e colori. La foto � stata scattata in Piazza Vecchia a Bergamo, e mostra sullo sfondo il Palazzo della Ragione. Il palazzo venne edificato al termine del XII secolo, tra il 1183 (data in cui fu siglata la pace di Costanza) e il 1198, epoca in cui cominciarono a svilupparsi le prime realt� comunali all'interno del Sacro Romano Impero. Il palazzo sub� un grave incendio nel 1513 da parte degli spagnoli ma venne prontamente restaurato e conserva da allora le stesse parti. Nel WS una vista completa con la fontana che deve il suo nome ad Alvise Contarini, podest� della Repubblica di Venezia, che la regal� alla cittadinanza nel 1780, quando lasci� il suo incarico nella citt� orobica.

Belle illuminations avec ce bosquet tout en lumi鑢e, une composition et sc鑞e attendrissante avec cette 関ocation de la magie de No雔 pour les enfants et les plus grands, toujours de bons moments les premiers No雔 ... enfant, avec ses enfants ou ses petits enfants. Hello Luciano,
We get a fine wider view of the square in the WS, but I prefer the closer look of the elegant and tasteful decorations in the main photo. It was a nice touch to include the young parents and their baby in the foreground, not just for the composition as such but also for the ideas suggested in the note.

a nice view of these adornments in front of the fa鏰de with monumental arches. the nude branches imitating trees with light and the family here can imitate the sacred family in its moment in Bethlehem too.

I have often thought just how pleasing it would be if we could remember our early childhood: pushed around in a pram, lots of adult attention, ...!

This is a lovely, festive photograph!
The fairy lights, the golden archways, the decorative snowflakes, all combine to create the best, Christmassy atmosphere!
The attentive adults and child are strongly placed and symbolically perfect!
