Purple library, a photo from Bergamo, Lombardia

Photographer's Note

We are always in Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo Alta, and here we see an opposite view to the previous one. Christmas lights in the arcades of the Palazzo Nuovo in Bergamo, seat of the Angelo Mai civic library. The Palazzo Nuovo in Bergamo is the work of the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi, (Vicenza, 1548 or 1552 - Venice, 1616), while the entrance loggia, which lightens the facade, was designed by the architect Andrea Ceresola, known as Vannone, to whom we owe also the reconstruction of the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa.
The construction of the building began in the early seventeenth century and after a centuries-old path was completed in 1958 with the insertion of six statues, works by Tobia Vescovi, on the entablature of the second, fifth and eighth windows of the facade.
The fa鏰de is the work of the architect Ernesto Pirovano (1866-1934), who completed it in 1928 following the design of Scamozzi.

Siamo sempre in Piazza Vecchia a Bergamo Alta, e qui vediamo una vista opposta alla precedente. Luci di Natale nei portici del Palazzo Nuovo di Bergamo, sede della civica Biblioteca civica Angelo Mai. Il Palazzo Nuovo di Bergamo � opera dell'architetto Vincenzo Scamozzi, (Vicenza, 1548 o 1552 - Venezia, 1616), mentre il loggiato d'ingresso, che ne alleggerisce la facciata, fu disegnato dall'architetto Andrea Ceresola, detto il Vannone, a cui si deve anche la ricostruzione del Palazzo Ducale di Genova.
La costruzione del palazzo inizi� nei primi anni del XVII secolo e dopo un percorso secolare fu ultimata nel 1958 con l'inserimento di sei statue, opere di Tobia Vescovi, sulle trabeazioni del secondo, quinto e ottavo finestrone della facciata.
La facciata � opera dell'architetto Ernesto Pirovano (1866-1934), che la complet� nel 1928 seguendo il progetto dello Scamozzi.

There's a very nice pink and blueish light inside the grey vaults. It looks like a popular place for taking selfies. As usual you show us a well exposed photo with a very good symmetry. The WS gives us a better understanding of the entire building.

Magnificently framed these three great arches, belonging to this great construction, of the elegant and regal building we see a good photo in the WS.
Here this color between pink and mauve creates a beautiful atmosphere together with the lights, people give a good vital touch.
