Photographer's Note
I admit quality of this scanned print is not as good as should had been - but the place was overwhelming and impressive.
The Roman amphiteatre located on the highst point in Taormina, Sicilia.
The second-largest ancient theatre in Sicily, built by the Greeks in the 3rd century BC, rebuilt by the Romans in the 2nd century AD, it is still used today on cocerts and operas.

Dobro vece, vec je kasna noc.
Gradjevine kojima se i danas divimo ...
Vrlo interesantno i lepo mesto, arhitektura koja je odolela osvajacima i vremenu, dobra kompozicija.
Dobar trenutak snimka i tekst sa lepim pogledom na staru arhitekturu i deo grada, lepe boje i fotografija, moje cestitke na dobrom radu skeniranjem.
Prijatno vece i lep vikend.
Sve najbolje.

Hi Ike,
Even if the light is very strong, it does not affect the ablity to see the details and colors of the architecture of the roman amphiteatre. The subject is well frame. It is clear and sharp. Have a nice day.

ערב טוב. ו הגדול הרומית אמפיתיאטרון יפה, זה ממוקם להפליא על צלע ההר. הייתי כל כך רגילה, אבל בעצם זה היה גשם. קומפוזיציה מעולה. בברכה.

hi Ike
TFS! čestitam!
lep dan, vojko

PS. Some friends ask me how many festivals we have in Japan. The answer is not offically comfirmed but around 20,000 is commonly said . I will take up them as much as possible for my life.

Hi Ike!
Even for a scan it results a good one, because its contrasts and composition, where could see city at backgropund...including Theatre on its surroudings and giving an idea of its location, the play of shadows and light I like it very much...
Best regards...

Hello Ike,
A fine frame with the ancient ruins..!
Come to think of it, they were pretty interested in plays and performances back then judged by the number of theatres they left behind...
The point of view works well.:!

Hello Ike
It's a pity those well-managed constructions did'nt resist to time: So well managed that performers voice could be heard up to the last row without any amplification means!
A stunning juxtaposition of an historic theater to modernity of city downhill!
Shalom.

Hi Ike,
when I go to such places, I always feel intimidated in some way.
Who could walk here for hundreds of years ago?
The picture is fantastic and brings us closer to our own, human roots .
Have a nice evening Tomasz

Hello Ike,
such an interesting ancient theatre, I like very much your point of view and the way you completed the frame with the town below. The stone textures are full of character, colours and shadows compete in intensity. The light is so powerful, it seems to fill the empty space. The architecture is very interesting and it's fascinating to know that the theatre has been offering its services for so many centuries. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania

Hi Ike
An imposing amphitheatre really shows the size
taken from a great viewpoint as the space really gives a sense of enormity with that nice sweeping curve. Fine compositional arrangement, the detailing is wonderful in natural earthy colours and touch of greens is just perfect to boost the visual effect It's a fantastic piece of work on this wonderful subject matter. Congrats
Best regards

A good high pov from the upper terrace of the theatre and nice to have a glimpse of the rooftops of the modern contemporary city beyond. The strong highlights have been well managed with only negligible oe. Tfs!

Hello Ike,
I never cease to amazed by the architecture and the permanence of Roman buildings. This amphitheatre still holds us in awe after millennia. Its elevated position was well chosen.
You have given us some excellent details and shown us its setting, which also seems very old in its style.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
