Photographer's Note

Still on our journey up into the Dolomites, we stopped off at this beautiful lake to admire the views.

This is Lago di Tenno, named because of its blue-green hue, caused by the forests that surround it and the white stone lake bed.

"At an elevation of 550m.
The lake was formed around the year 1100 following a large landslide that blocked the course of the river Ri Sec, which is currently the main tributary of the lake."

Hello Jean,
You found a perfect gap between the trees to capture the view of this lake with its marvellous blue tone. Theoretically the shore looks like a very nice sandy beach, but I have a suspicion the water is never very warm, and certainly not in October. Above all this is a photo of beautiful tones of green and blue.

Hello Jean,

Another very beautiful Italian lake in the Dolomites. I was so close to Lake Como hen I was in Verona but did not know it was an easy daytrip or I would have gone there. Well framed and composed with reasonable sharpness. Tfs!

Hello Jean,

It's like moving the green curtains apart, to grab a view of what is beyond. The lake looks like a well hidden secret!
I like the natural green and blue hues and the fine sense of depth.
The light looks much more difficult for you in the w/s.

Stunning blue-green colour of the water.
Nice view of the bank and the slope on the other side through an opening between the trees.
My preference goes to your first picture in the WS.
Strange that there are no other visitors to this beautiful lake.
