Questo centro abitato è sorto come località balneare nella seconda metà dell’800, subito a sud della foce dell’Arno.
Marina di Pisa è caratterizzata dall’esistenza di molti edifici in stile Liberty in un tessuto urbano contrassegnato da tre piazze sul mare, collegate tra loro da tre strade parallele alla costa intersecate ortogonalmente da varie strade. Alle spalle dell’abitato si estende una vasta pineta.

Marina di Pisa ha piccole spiagge protette dalle mareggiate da possenti scogliere frangiflutti. A Sud l’arenile si fa più consistente, ed è sede di stabilimenti balneari ed attrezzature turistiche. Marina di Pisa dà la possibilità di usufruire di numerosi ormeggi lungo l’Arno, con centri di assistenza per la nautica.

Sta per essere realizzato il progetto relativo alla costruzione di un porto turistico alla force dell’Arno.
