Photographer's Note
Early morning view from our hotel room in the Aosta valley towards the Mont-Blanc summit on the far side.
The hotel, Etoile-du-Nord is at 45.7192, 7.2644 on the map, and the Mont-Blanc summit is at 45.8343, 6.862.
A picture from our 06/2012 trip from Liguria to the Alps, taken with my spare camera.
Deliberatley I did not crop the dark lower part, as Gert suggested, to maintain a wider scope and gain contrast on the scene.
JPEG, F2.8, 1/640, auto-ISO125.

Hello Ike,
You had a splendid view from your hotel room. The early morning light makes the colours of the mountains and the town look so crisp and clear. There is a large dark area in the lower part of the photo, and although it provides a strong contrast to the upper, distant view, a drastic crop might have been considered. Cutting off as much as 40 percent from the bottom would have given you a bright panoramic view.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Ike,
What a wonderful view, the landscape is beautiful with the valley in between the hills and the mountains in the distance, bathing in a great sunlight, just like the houses, which have got a pleasant, warm colour.

Hello Ike,
A beautiful view of the sun-drenched town between the mountains. Not often you have such a beautiful view from a hotel room.
I do agree with Gert that a piece can be cut of from the bottom (e.g. half of the dark tree part). I think the picture gains depth there, but it is also a matter of taste.
Well done
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hello Ike,
Waking up in the morning with a view like that...I'm sure you'll not want to leave this hotel.
I'm glad that the Alps is in Europe. What a magnificent mountain ranges. Even in the summer , the snowcaps are visibly seen from the soft morning light slightly misty blue sky.
So beautiful and peaceful shot. A well cherished memory scene.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Ike,
The sun illuminated beautifully most of the central part of the picture.
Great to have such a wide panorama in full sunlight when you take your first look out the window. Much better than waking up with the sun in your eyes :)
The panorama is quite impressive and certainly invites you to discover the region more closely.
Beautiful strong contrast with the dark trees in the shadow of your hotel.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Ike,
The composition is well divided, the sky, the mountains and the town. The poitn of view is showing the details of the mountains and of the buildings. The colours are beautiful. Have a nice day.

Hello Gert,
How surprising!
My first thoughts were those of Gert抯, to crop some of the f/g and create a much more panoramic view.
I have to say, the view from your window was incredibly beautiful!
The buildings and mountains scenery are so well included, whilst the light makes the whole b/g glow.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Ike, France is just on the other side of the Mont blanc. That hotel enjoys an idyllic location near a river and a stunning view. I like the golden light bathing the village in the bg. Thanks for the information in today's comment. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Ike, You had marvellous view from the windows of your hotel: lovely city, the river and high Alps. Fantastic light in the morning. Probably I would prefer without the dark part below, but anyway, the view is magnificent.

Hi Ike.
A magnificent composition with the good morning light, the situation of the town is very beautiful, next to a green hill and in the background the foothills of the Alps.
A magnificent color, which gives the image a lot of chromatic richness.
Very good management of lighting and sharpness.
Well done. I like it.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hi Ike,
amazing view of the Alps from a safe distance here. The light so warm and pleasant. Shadows take over the scene but they can be also seen a as a framing for the panorama.
I really have to explore this region more someday,
Very well done,
