Venice is full of exceptional buildings and sites. What to choose as representative of Venice? Saint Mark's Square is often photographed with its pigeons. But we sat in a cafe on the Grand Canal and pigeons came, sat and stared. Hoping for rich pickings. This one has wonderful colours.
We thought Pajaran would like this image!

An unusual "portrait" of a pigeon. Very close and very sharp. I do hope it really had two legs.

This pigeon is fluffing out its feathers and showing their lovely gradations of colour as it appears to be bowing to your camera!

I like the radial pattern of the plumage and the unusual one legged stance of the pigeon. Excellent use of differential focus with good sharpness on the bird. Tfs!

Eye contact is good as is the selective focus, not so much of a smile would help to understand his dilemma perhaps!
