The guardian, a photo from Agrigento, Sicily

I was walking towards the seaside in Linosa, the wonderful Sicilan island that belongs to the Pelagian Island Archipelago, when I watched this black cat...I seemed like this cat was the guardian of the house behind...or perhaps the owner?

Camminando per le (poche) strade del paesino di Linosa -Dio ne benedica la bellezza selvaggia e tutti i suoi abitanti, gatti compresi!- mi sono imbattuto in questo micio....non essendo come AnnaPaola che coi gatti ci parla (ma solo perch� non ho ancora imparato bene il "gattese") posso solo lanciarmi in alcune supposizioni: � davvero lui il guardiano della casetta numero 33, oppure sar� il proprietario? In ogni caso, AnnaPaola questa � per te!

Hello Rikk! What a cute picture and yet is is more than that and belongs to many street scenes in the South. Love your yellow foreground with the cat that looks so thin sitting a little bit behind, the eyes and two ears are almost too big :))) but so curious, watching you carefully. piu' che un micio, una lumaca! guarda che orecchie!! =)
allora, io il gattese lo parlo da un sacco di anni e secondo me non lo vuoi sapere cosa ti stava dicendo con gli occhi questo micio...
calcolando che un gatto castrato o sterilizzato si "appropria" di 800-1500 mt nelle sue passeggiate, io direi che il micio in questione e' non solo il proprietario del 33, ma anche di tutta la strada...
troppo bella - il contrasto tra i colori e il nero del pelo piu' il giallo degli occhi, perfettamente a fuoco, ne fa una foto da appendere.

la foto risulta gradevole gi� dalla miniatura, perch� le tonalit� pastello la fanno sembrare un dipinto; ma � aprendola che se ne apprezza veramente la bellezza. Realizzata con grande tecnica, la messa a fuoco solo sugli occhi del gatto � spettacolare.

Ciao Rikk. Ritratto felino emblematico e un po' inquietante. Li amo talmente tanto che il colore non fa differenza. Perffeta messa fuoco sugli occhi e gran contrasto. Il primo e ultimo piano sfocati danno ancor pi� importanza al personaggio. Che sia un Paolo trapiantato in Sicilia? A.P. apprezzer� di certo.

Sono un gattofilo nato, per cui questa stupenda immagine (adoro i gatti neri) non pu� che farmi un immenso piacere, anche perch� sei riuscito a cogliere la quint'essenza dell'espressione felina. Una delle pi� belle foto di gatti vista in TE, ovviamente, dritta tra le mie preferite.

This is such a strong stand-out image.

Everything about it tells me that it's a painting, an illustration - because the pose, the composition and the colourng are, perhaps, just like one might chose for such a piece. But no, it's a photograph. Amazing! :)

Che titolo azzeccato. L'aria vigile dei felini (che essi alternano a quella sorniona dei momenti di riposo) � qui ben rappresentata, sottolineata da una messa a fuoco selettiva e dal contrasto/accoppiamento cromatico col primissimo piano e con lo sfondo.
