Proprio sulla sommità del colle dell'Aventino, si trova il parco Savello, più noto ai romani come "Giardino degli aranci". La vista particolarmente suggestiva sul quartiere di Trastevere, l'Isola Tiberina, il profilo delle cupole del centro storico, della collina del Gianicolo e del Monte Mario rendono questo parco uno dei luoghi più affascinanti della città. Il parco è delimitato da antiche mura che costituiscono un raro esempio di incastellamento altomedievale e termina con una terrazza che sovrasta il Tevere proprio nel punto in cui sorgeva il porto maggiore della città romana. Durante la stagione invernale gli alberi d'arancio a cui il parco deve il nome si caricano di frutti e alla vista sulla città eterna si aggiunge il loro profumo caratteristico.

Right on top of the Aventine Hill, the park is Savello, better known to the Romans as the "Garden of oranges." The view is particularly striking about the neighborhood of Trastevere, the Tiber Island, the profile of the domes of the old town, the hill of Monte Mario, Gianicolo and make this park one of the most fascinating cities. The park is bordered by ancient walls that constitute a rare example of medieval fortification and ends with a terrace overlooking the Tiber at the point where there was more of the port city of Rome. During the winter orange trees that the park is named are loaded with fruits and views of the eternal city adds its distinctive fragrance.
