Photographer's Note

The Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore is one of the most emblematic monuments of Citt� Alta, Bergamo's historical quarter. It is located on the Piazza del Duomo, which forms a remarkable architectural complex with the Cathedral (il Duomo), the Baptistery and the Palazzo della Ragione (Palace of Reason).

Built in the second half of the twelfth century, the building combines the simplicity of the Romanesque-Lombard outside and the baroque exuberance of the interior.
If one believes the popular legend, the basilica was built to fulfill a vow to the Virgin Mary, which would have ended a drought a few years ago.

You have done really well to capture so much fine detail in the difficult light,a very interesting capture,the image has good clarity and sharpness.

Seems you have a good series of ceilings. This one is also great and the light highlights the carvings. Very good pov and details!

ta critique en ma langue � ma derni鑢e photo m'a surpris tr鑣 agr閍blement, je ne savais pas que tu pouvais conna顃re ou 閏rire en catalan.
En r閒閞ence � ta photo, je dois dire que c'est une difficile prise due a la contre-plong閑, et aussi par la prise � l'int閞ieur de la basilique, avec une difficile exposition, et que tu as r閟olu avec une grande ma顃rise.
Une gestion excellente de la lumi鑢e et de la qualit� des couleurs, dans cette belle composition.
