Freedom of expression is one of the individual and fundamental freedoms.

It is the main purpose of section 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948: "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers."

Freedom of expression is however subject to restrictions set by law. Restrictions vary from country to country.
These restrictions are mainly defamation, public insult, racism or Holocaust denial.

Freedom of expression is usually the first freedom suppressed by totalitarian regimes.

Delphine, great shot. The nice bright colors really help bring out the words and create a really sharp and clear image. I like how you only show a section of it, leaving the size and extent to the viewer's imagination - it certainly looks like people have a lot to say. Interesting that so much of it seems to be in uniform handwriting; are ideas submitted and then painted, or can individuals write on the wall themselves?

Shot very graphic and interesting, a singing to free expression. Last years, we have been too accomodated to good times but now we have to wake up and SPEACK!

En me promenant dans Milan, je n'ai pas le souvenir d'avoir vu de tels panneaux. J'aime bien le cot� un peu bordelique de l'ensemble, bien que chaque inscription soit finalement bien visible avec le jeu des couleurs.
Une belle illustration pour la note que tu as choisie.

What a lovely and characteristic composition. I love the vivid colours and sharpness and of course the wonderful sense of being in Italia. Good spotting, a very artistic work.

stavo guardando la tua galleria, � molto bella, ma questa foto � molto originale.
Sembrerebbe uno scatto facile, ma bisogna pensarlo per renderlo tale, spesso basta una buona idea al posto di molta tecnica.
