Photographer's Note

Roma - Ara Pacis.
I doubt the title can mean anything to anyone other than me, so here's my explanation for it :)
HCB (Henri Cartier-Bresson) is one of my favourite photographers and the reason why I was drawn to photography in the first place. The first photo exhibition I ever saw was about him, and ever since that first meeting I keep having the luck of visiting great exhibitions on HCB all over Europe.
Last week I saw again an exhibition on him in Rome, at the Museum of Ara Pacis, which is the building you see in the background here.
I remember seeing this girl sitting in that position and thinking about this country, this city, all its problems, the exhaustion, the weariness, the escapism into a life of hedonistic consumerism, etc.etc. - and finding her body language such an apt metaphor for it.
