Photographer's Note
Bridge of Sighs, Venice, Italy.
This bridge is one of the icons of the beautiful city of Venice. It connects the Prosecutors Palace with the city jail and these 2 small windows on the side wall of the bridge are the last views of Venice that sentenced prisoners see on their last way to jail. Quite sad and suppressing place, no joy and cheer here...
The bridge name, given by Lord Byron as a translation from the Italian "Ponte dei sospiri" in the 19th century, comes from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice through the window before being taken down to their cells.

Hello Mike,
A quiet moment on the canals in Venice with one gondel but with nice frontages to both sides.
You choose a nice angle with depth and perspective.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hi Mike
This is really really nice, a classic piece of architecture but you've given it a new life and look that I've never seen before. The light is managed perfectly for a really great photo
Best wishes
Noel
