Photographer's Note

La-Palude from Pointe-Helbronner on the slopes of the Mont-Blanc at an altitude of 2173m above sea-level. View down the valley towards Courmayeur on the far side.

The La-Palude village is at 45.8186, 6.9634 and Courmayeur is at 45.8, 6.969 on the map.
On the lower right is the entrance to the Mont-Blanc tunnel direction France.

*** An explanation:
Have taken most of my pictures back in that times with a Panasonic FZ35 (than new camera), but from experience carried a spare small Canon IXUS130. Years later, found out that Canon has a mastermind DPP-software that is totally best & useful for post-processing Canon pictures � so looking into my files, re-processed those which found as better outcome from my older Panasonic.
The lesson: keep always learning. Thanks for stopping by.

A travers ces montagnes l'on aper鏾it le village encastr� dans la vall閑 (l'on mesure notre petitesse par rapport � la nature environnante).

What a view!
The valley meanders gently between the high slopes of the mountains, accentuating their differences!
The wires, which I suppose are from a cable car, act like gossamer guides, down the f/g slope.

Ike, the lookout provides a fantastic panorama of this Alpine landscape. A snow capped summit appears in the bg. The mountain slopes are covered with forests whereas the valley is urbanized. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Ike,
So this picture is taken from the slopes of the Mont Blanc.
The village in the valley is surrounded on all sides by high mountains.
From this slope, the village can see its entire length and also the white mountain peaks on the other side of the valley.
But you were probably on your way to the highest snow cap in Western Europe.

It's a spectacular view with very green areas closer to you and blueish, hazy mountains in the distance. I can't estimate how this may have looked before the post-processing you describe, but clearly you made a good job. It looks like a fairly faultless photo.

Wonderful view of this Alpine valley where it gets very narrow and the road continues in a tunnel below the mountain tops. Those power lines enhance the perspective.
