Manarola cliff & port, a photo from La Spezia, Liguria

Photographer's Note

Manarola yet again� the small port and the sheer cliff prominently rise above the sea.
Precise spot of the bay: 44.1063, 9.7265 on the map.

This would be my last from the 2012 trip, yet there are several pictures from this stunning village in Cinque-Terre on my Italia gallery.
Picture was taken with my spare camera, a JPEG picture, F8.0, 1/250, auto-ISO250.

Hi Ike.

My train from La Specia stopped here for an hour before I got another train to Geno(v)a after reading that 4 of the 5 walking tracks were closed by wildfires until further notice. I liked what I saw even though the beach was crowded. Tfs!

Hello Ike,
Looking at the behaviour of the water I imagine landing here with a small boat could be quite tricky. On the other hand the possibly dangerous streams created a very photogenic pattern. I also like the contrasts between the dark rocks and the light blue water.

This is a well chosen viewpoint, giving details of the small harbour wall, the access to the sea and the sheer rock wall on which the houses are built.
The surging sea gives the impression that we are seeing the sea from the back of a boat.

You chose a nice angle with sight on the port and high cliffs
Also the people are a nice addition on the terrace.

Hi Ike,

The presenc eof the persons is animating the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the cliff, of the rocks and of the sea. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Hi Ike,
usually we see the photos taken inwards, here you have turned to the sea which allowed us to appreciate better the context of the coast. Nice curves of the harbour and cliffs. The water foamed very much has a nice color.
Local people seem to come and visit there, we can see for example two pushchairs which are probably not tourists.

A fascinating view of this beautiful place, that small port at the foot of the cliffs and the town, that terrace where you can see people sitting is a precise place to hear the sea break.
The color and light management are magnificent, highlighting the beauty and sharpness of the image.

Too bad this will be the last picture of Cinque-Terre you will show us.
It's an amazing part of Italy that I still have to discover.
The sea seems quite rough here. But the people are well protected behind the wall.

Hello Ike So much rocks piled as a 'savewater' located at mid-plan constitute with the concrete launching ramp for boats a very pretty mould retaining the heart-shaped blue waters; the latter enhancing the majesty of this iconic cliff judiciously decorated of the red eye catchers on sundeck.
Outstanding view masterly captured!

ya, I looked at this photo from the gallery page and I knew it looked familiar, it took a a few seconds, but i guessed right.
I've been here as well. these are such stunning rocky view, how could anyone not enjoy them. makes me want to re-visit.

I like the steep cliff, it looks majestic. It must be quite a challenge launching a boat from that boat launch, at least when the sea is stirred up like this.
