Leaving Positano, a photo from Salerno, Campania

Photographer's Note

We took a boat from Amalfi, which then stopped off at Positano before continuing on the journey to the island of Capri.
Positano is a cliffside village on southern Italy's Amalfi coast.

It was a good trip, lasting the whole day. We were blessed with good weather.
One more shot in the workshop.

The boat is well included in the foreground and the view of the steep mountains and the town built against the cliffs and on the slopes is really impressive. Fine weather also.

Hello Jean,
It's a fantastic view, and it's good to have a small part of the boat and some passengers in the foreground to balance the photo and to create a sense of depth. Beautiful weather and a good exposure created fine colours. The main difference between the two photos is that we get a slightly wider view in the main upload.

Wow, this view is breathtaking! So amazing is the location of this charming town on the slopes of the rocky mountains. By including the boat in the image you are inviting the viewers to travel with you and, indeed, it really makes me want to be there. Especially with all the storms in the recent days it would also be lovely to experience this kind of sunshine (and, I imagine, warm weather)!

Hello Jean, beautiful view of Positano from the side of the water. It is fantastic to see but imagine living there and going up and down! Amalfi Coast offers really magnificent views everywhere.

Hello Jean,
I've never seen Positano from the sea. Only from the shore.
It's one of those marvelous places on the Amalfi Coast.
Beautiful view with the houses built one above the other and the majestic mountains behind them.

I did the exact same in 2013. Amalfi > Positano > Capri Sorrento > Atrani. The Amalfi coast is a beautiful part of the world. Good sharpness and upward pov on the steep cliffs. Tfs!

Hi Jean,
I have good memories from Positano. We did it differently though we were staying in Sant Angello near Sorento and we were doing trips from there. We made a trip to Positano and also to Capri but as separate independent tours. There is so much to see there. I would like to revisit it someday.
In the past I was always avoiding people on the boat. These days I would probably try to include even more of them as a foreground.

An impeccable composition of this unique place, I love how the houses climb the rugged hillside, the mountains are fascinating, I would love to visit this area of such beautiful villages sometime.
Equally stupendous is the photo in the WS, in a more open plane.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and magnificent composition; They are managed perfectly, in this beautiful image.

A well composed image with the tourists boat adding to the view and action but not disturbing it at all. The white of the trail of the boat is over exposed but I don't think you can do anything. the details captured on the cliffside village are splendid

in fact it is an amazing place with these numerous white houses covering the huge slopes to the sea and the wild tops in evidence. beautiful these two images. I want to know southern italy some day.
