Civitella CastlernrnThe castle of Civitella, elliptical in shape, occupies a small hill 480 meters above sea level, dominating a vast and fertile agricultural plateau, located on the left bank of the Nera, and controlling the important mountain path that connected Spoleto with Monteleone and Leonessa, therefore with the Kingdom of Naples.rnErected on the site of an ancient settlement, evidenced by pre-Roman funerary material, formerly a fiefdom of the Abbey of San Pietro in Valle, at the end of the 13th century it became the seat of the Podesta Office of the Spoleto district.rnThe fortifications, the walls and the two access gates date back to this period.

Hello Silvio,
It's another fine castle located in a beautiful scenery. The bell tower rises high above the roofs with the mountain as a background. The light is good and so are the colours and sharpness.
