'Horses fountain' in Macedonia Square, Skopje. I've uploaded a wider angled view showing all three of the horse sculptures adorning the fountain, but liked this one for the composition showing some of the citadel at left and a church belltower at right.

Hello Chris,
The perspective was carefully chosen, IMHO, managed to show the horse statue as it was galloping behind the fountain (with not much water), and the church edifice and tower with the fort on the other side beyond.
Fine outcome.

Chris, that square should be a meeting place in Skopje. The horse decorates well the fountain. A fortification and a church bell tower are visible in the bg. Good sharpness.

from the small thumbnail posts on the main page I had to take a second or third look to really understand what i'm looking at.
Now i get it :) Cool and very effective composition, its busy, but also well played out. The horse is placed smartly in the scene, and now I want to see this fountain light up at night, must be quite the visual. Sweet shot. cheers

the light was special and you got a perfect slice of the urban landscape using well the horse, the tower and the castle. nice details and excellent quality. a nice image of a country not so much visited.

Looks a wonderfully photogenic area, wealth of colours and this is an attractive fountain statue - an imposing arty bronze horse adorning the elegant fountain in a lovely quaint little part of town with the bg hinting at more!! Very effective choice of angle producing a striking shot from your astute observations. You can lead a horse to water, but, as demonstrated here, you can't make it drink.....

The horse statue in the foreground makes for unusual composition and was also very attractive in thumbnail which, at first sight, made me think it was a live animal! :-)
I was there 4 years earlier, when the square was either built or renovated, I'm not sure. Lots of scaffolding everywhere but I managed a photo of the fountain too.

Hello Chris,
The horses in this fountain are so well-made and realistic. I do like this view in the main photo, with some traditional sites in the background. I wonder if the water is permanently turned off, or it was just shut off for the colder seasons.
