The church of St. Nicholas (Црква Свети Никола)in Mavrovo, Macedonia was built in 1850 and stood for more than a century until it was flooded in an artificial lake in 1953. At one point the church was fully submerged, but it keeps rising again, especially in summer with the droughts.
The local people say that the saint and the God's power do not allow for it to completely disappear in the depths of Mavrovo Lake. The phenomenon of its constant emerging from the waters is explained by them with the impossibility of covering and forgetting about a sacred place.

The green atmoshpere is well shown by you. However, the main subject should be a bit right side or in left side.

Hi Attila, Whom I see here ??! So nice to see the old friends coming back.
Interesting church in water. It is always problem with the dams and lakes, that so many things are destroyed. I remember spooky atmosphere of the big cities abandoned on the shores of Yangtze, it was quite incredible view. It is so here, on a tiny scale.Something can be saved but not much. Fascinating place to visit.

Hello Attila,

This is an interesting place and a good picture despite the poor light. It would have been nicer without the two guys in the bottom of the picture.
