Photographer's Note

Like Dubrovnik to the north in Croatia, Budva old town has a sturdy city wall encircling it, most of it built during Venetian rule (1420 to 1797 AD). Budva was sacked by the Muslim Saracens in 841 AD. Venice largely held the Ottoman expansion into Europe at bay. The town dates from 500 BC & is thus one of the oldest continuously occupied cities in Europe.

Lepa arhitektura i planina u pozadini.
Lep krov i mesto sa lepim pogledom na zaliv.

Chris, these fortifications protected the town against attacks in the past. The citadel overlooks the sea therefore war ships could be seen from a distance. Today it s a well preserved monument to discover. It is surrounded by a beautiful bay and mountains. Fine colors, perfect image quality, regards.

Hello Chris,

This is an an amazingly ancient place.
Your f/g shows very strong walls, from which there is a vast view out towards the sea.
The difference in colours between the brightly lit f/g and the blues of the b/g, creates an excellent sense of depth, assisted by the long, straight line of the range roof.

Hello Chris,
The long red roof brings us straight into the dark blue sea. The contrasts of these shapes and colours make this a very catchy composition. I also like the inclusion of the four persons who animate the large grey area, especially the one busy with taking a photo. I have spent some time in Budva and found it mainly a fairly boring place full of tourist groups and ugly hotels. The old town is like a poor man's Dubrovnik.

Hello Chris,
The deep blue water is beautiful and the contrast with the very orange roof is fantastic. It's a great view of the citadel in the foreground and the mountain scenery on the other side of the water. Excellent colours, well saturated, lighting and sharpness.

this is one of those shots where it deserves many more points than what its currently getting. the perspective is so good and so effective, that along makes it great. throw in colours, bright lighting, awesome bg scenery, and a few people for scale..this is a winner

What a beautiful perspective from the fortress in the FG to the mountains in the BG . I like especially the contrast between the white walls and the red tiled roof with the deep blue sea .

I liked the use of the red roof like a diagonal invading this marvelous seashore landscape. many details to see, the mountains remind me madeira island.
