Photographer's Note
After the big flood of 1953, in which more than 2000 people died in Zeeland, the dutch government decided to solve this problem by closing all the estuaria and open waters between the islands from the sea.
Big dams were built to establish a safer enviromment for the people on the islands. The most northern estuarium (here on the picture) which is the Harinvliet was closed and turned into a sweet water lake.
On the basaltrocks on the dam on the seaside yellow mosses have established. You can also sea the beach and dunes of Voorne on the Northsea and on the left a plate that falls dry at low tyde on wich seals and a lot of birds feed and rest.

Bonjour mon ami Gerrit,
Philippe

Hi Gerrit
A good photo-documentary shot of the rock groyne, with excellent sharpness, & color contrast, between the yellow & blue. Congratulations!

The sunset lighting over these stone is giving good colors. The background is also attractive.
Thanks for sharing.

Extraordinary mild colours and fine shadows makes this dam really 3D. Regards.

Hoi Gerrit,
John.

Hi Gerrit, you have a beautiful light on the rocks. The low angle of the sun also brings out the texture well.
