Photographer's Note

Last week I went on a sentimental journey to my place of birth with my brother and two sisters because of the fact that my father - who died in 2001 - would have become a hundred years old last March the 5th.
Vlaardingen is a town in South-Holland with about 80,000 inhabitants and a rich history. Here you see the 17th century Town Hall on the Market Place.

Hello Gerrit,
You had a sentimental but good reason to revisit your old home town. The small square looks very typical Dutch and the good light enhances the elegance of the Town Hall. The train and its branches provide a good frame on two sides. There are very few photos from Vlaardingen on TE, and this is really the first that shows a street view.

Hello Gerrit,

Your visit was for an important reason and, it meant that you were able to meet up with other family members.

This looks like a really attractive place. It reminds me of some of the delightful Dutch villages that we encountered when visiting The Netherlands, last year. There is a fine sense of history and civic pride to these buildings.
Your thirds composition and sharp exposure are worthy of the occasion.

Eens terug in Nederland.
Met het oude stadhuis en de mooie pui.
Prachtige architectuur, vroeger konden ze wat.
Vandaag zijn ze allemaal beter geleerd maar niet die artistieke kennis

Een prachtige foto van dit speciale reisje terug naar Vlaardingen. Je had geluk met het mooie weer van het vroege voorjaar. Het stadhuis is heel mooi met zijn oud-Hollandse neoclassicistische stijl.

Excellent framing with main focus of attention is on the historic buildings and does show off the range of architectural features and colour beautifully. The bright whites are indeed absorbing brought alive to the edifice and this does look a delightful spot for photo shoot. Congrats
